Who is Angela in one sentence?
I love staying creative and once I find something that piques my interest, I’m all in.
Where are you from, and how long have you been in Vancouver?
I’m proudly born and raised in Vancouver! Growing up here has given me unlimited backyard access to nature. My fondest memories involve sunset chasing, hiking, kayaking, and camping. If there’s one thing I would change about Vancouver, a little less rain during the gloomy season would be nice.
What’s one food or drink spot in the city you keep going back to?
I find myself going back to Yin Ji Chang Fen, a Chinese restaurant in Richmond best known for their rice rolls and congee. Their milk tea is served with ice surrounding the outside of the cup, so your drink doesn’t get diluted! Coming here always warms my heart and stomach.
What are three things we’d find you doing on a Saturday?
Weekends are usually pretty jam-packed for me, there’s just so much to do and so little time! I’m either running errands, catching up with friends, sketching at a cafe, or filming at a media event. In the evenings, I attend worship service at Tap Nights. Though I didn’t grow up Christian, practicing faith in adulthood has filled me with peace and grounded me with spiritual belonging.
What’s something you’re excited about in your life right now?
Recently I’ve been really locked in on my pottery journey! I’ve been at my studio for two years now and it's such an amazing feeling to be able to create functional pieces my family and friends can use. I’m currently excited about creating larger pieces, especially moon jars and vases for all my plants and flowers.
If you could share a message with everyone in Vancouver, what would you say?
Don’t let your fear of judgement stop you from trying! You don’t need to keep waiting for a sign. Pick up a new hobby, dine alone, or try a new coffee shop and do a cafe sketch. When you let your overthinking stop you from trying, you’re actually doing yourself an injustice. Even if you put yourself out there and fail - that’s okay. Failure is redirection and redirection is growth.
Tell Vancouver what you’re up to and where they can follow you.
I’m a huge foodie and love sharing food/ fun recommendations around the city. You can catch my latest adventures on Instagram/Tiktok/Beli @angelanomz. I’m trying to reach 10k followers by the end of 2026 on Instagram… come through!
