Who is Courtney in one sentence?

I’m an ex-entrepreneur turned Marketing Director who loves thrifting, trying out new iced strawberry matcha spots, and exploring the world with my two kiddos and my husband.

Where are you from, and how long have you been in Vancouver?

I grew up in Surrey and then lived downtown for a couple years before falling in love with Mount Pleasant. I was there for the last 10 years and recently moved to North Van a couple months ago.

What are some of your go-to spots around the city?

I can’t get enough of the steak frites + kir royales at Les Faux Bourgeois (my old stomping grounds) or fish tacos + spicy margs at Tacofino (classic).

What are three things we’d find you doing on a Saturday?

My ideal Saturday would involve a beginner dance class (@thestudionorth), an e-bike brewery tour, and a comedy show.

What’s something you’re currently focused on or excited about in your life right now?

My husband and I recently bought a home in North Van (we have two little boys and condo life was getting tight!) and it’s been an adventure renovating it and making it our own. It’s been really fun planting roots in the North Shore and figuring out our new go-to spots.

What’s something in the city more people should know about?

Vancouver has street legal golf carts!! So random but I’ve rented them twice: once for a birthday brewery tour and once for a team building event to explore Stanley Park. The company is called Hey Ya (not sponsored, lol) and it’s been such a unique way to explore the city.

Someone in the city more people should know about?

I was introduced to Brotherhood Dance Crew (@brotherhoodcrew_) through my role at Studio North and these guys are truly INSANE! They’ll be repping Canada this year as they compete around the world in the International Dance League (think NBA for dancers) and I feel so fortunate to have a front row seat to watch and support!!
