Who is David JuanSala in one sentence?
I love documenting the everyday, the quiet moments, the in-between scenes, and my travel experiences and turning them into cinematic moving postcards.
Where are you from, and how long have you been in Vancouver?
I was born and raised in Manila, Philippines and I’ve been living in Vancouver for almost 11 years.
What’s one food or drink spot in the city you keep going back to?
My go-to spot is Ramen Danbo. It’s my comfort place. Simple, consistent, and always hits the spot. No matter how busy things get, a good bowl of ramen there just resets everything.
What are three things we’d find you doing on a Saturday?
Going on photowalk with friends, trying out new cafes or going for some local adventures and filming postcards.
What’s something you’re currently focused on or excited about in your life right now?
Right now, I’m focused on pouring energy into my creative passions and building a stronger community around them. I’m especially excited about growing busycreatives — a space where like-minded creatives can connect, collaborate, and push each other to create more intentionally.
Someone or something in the city more people should know about?
More people should know about busycreatives. We built it to be a safe, supportive space for artists and creatives who genuinely want to work on projects, share ideas, and grow together. It’s not just networking, it’s about real collaboration, creative accountability, and having fun while doing what we love.
If you could share a message with everyone in Vancouver, what would you say?
Create more. Share more. Don’t wait until you feel “ready.” Vancouver has so much talent and creativity, lean into it, support each other, and don’t be afraid to take up space with your art.
