Who is Marie in one sentence?

I move through life with restless energy, wall-level stubbornness, and a curiosity that never shuts off.

Where are you from, and how long have you been in Vancouver?

I am from Quebec City and have been in Vancouver for almost a year. I lived in Whistler for a year and a half prior to Vancouver.

What’s one food or drink spot in the city you keep going back to?

Carlino! The staff is the kindest and the pesto gnocchi just hits the right spot every time.

Three things we’d find you doing on a Saturday?

Reading a book either at Isetta Cafe or along the seawall/beach as I walk my dog (I read and walk, it’s one of my favourite things), hiking or skiing depending on the season and having a nice dinner in a new restaurant.

What’s something you’re focused on or excited about in your life right now?

Currently working on my business, Sunii Energy Gum, also what I consider my life’s work and complete passion at the moment.

Someone in the city more people should know about?

I’ve been chatting with this one old man recently everytime I see him when I go for walks on the seawall. He’s got such a good energy to him, repeats the same stories about his dog and how someone in his family is a professional basketball player but he sadly never got the height luck! Just truly genuine and fun to chat with! I hope people get to meet him as well.

And never be too shy to start a conversation with a stranger: we all have such cool lives and stories to share.
